Disposable vs Washable Nappies

Did You Know?

Minimize environmental impact!

  • With disposable nappies, one child use up to 4000 nappies from birth until cleanliness

  • During the first 6 months, baby will use 30 cubic meter of disposable nappies. With 820 000 babies being born each year in France, it represents 10 000 Olympic sized swimming pools full of disposable nappies only in France !

  • Hygiene textile items (such as nappies, wipes, feminine protection products) cause 1 million tonnes of waste each year in France, mainly due to disposable nappies.

  • Alternatively, a child only needs 24 NUNA nappies requiring approximately 135 washes from birth until 2 and half year.

  • Washable nappies are way less polluting than disposable nappies and the environmental impact is greatly reduced if you ...

    • use a washing machine of A or AA level (less consuming)

    • use an eco-friendly detergent and apply specified dosage as recommended

    • let the nappies air dry instead of using the tumble-dryer

    • wash the nappies at 40° or 60° C instead of 90°C

    • wash the nappies in a full machine (thus reducing the frequency of washes)

Save Your Money!

  • Equip baby with the washable NUNA nappies vost twice less than disposable nappies (1300 € on average).

  • The cost of washable diapers will be amortized as soon as it is used for another child*! ;)

  •  * works if the washable nappies are taken good care of (no dryer, no agressive detergent etc)
